Re: Suckswatch

And when those opinions are ones that are most commonly heard from bigots and conspiracy theorists, it is reasonable to conclude that the state of that person's mind is that they too are a bigot and a conspiracy theorist. Let's not beat about the bush here. People who go on about Jews having a disp...

Re: Suckswatch

What I am saying is it is not bigotry or a conspiracy theory to state that Jews have an outsized influence in U.S. politics and world affairs, meaning disproportionately greater than their share of the population. And what I'm saying is that, yes it is bigotry and a conspracy theory; and that you a...

Re: The evolution of cooperation

In population studies, this is related to the frequency of interacting with the same player. He suggests that small populations, where players frequently meet each other, tend to favour strategies that learn to cooperate, whereas in larger populations the effect is weaker. Yes, absolutely. This is ...

Re: Suckswatch

Probably will be soon. CrowsNest is the only person I know of in the critical world who gets angry not only when you diagree with him (which is common, of course) but when you agree with him too. Anger is his default setting. Somewhere on that board is a thread dedicated to his contention that Wiki...

Re: Who gets to criticise whom

I've been trying not to get sucked into this because I think it's dumb. It's just a PvP contest, a little fun between willing game-players. Kudpung needles GW by calling her by her real name. GW needles back by pointing out that what he is doing is annoying and sexist GW enlists white knights, Kudp...

Re: Who gets to criticise whom

This entire discussion is crazy. Kudpung called Ms. Warfare "Molly White." GorillaWarfare is Molly White. Not a secret, and even if it were it would still be true. Under which name did she collect pay from the WIkimedia Foundation? Curious, how much was she paid to pose for their fundraising banners...

Re: Who gets to criticise whom

IMO GW's original request was fine, if pointed... but Wikipedia lacks good forum habits because it lacks private messages. WP is basically a forum without PM. Eventually I gather they exchanged emails, but by then he had already flipped out... The reaction to what he obviously perceived as either p...

If you really want to push some buttons, float the Somina/Selomi theory over there. It is hilarious.
How surprised would or wouldn't you be if we learned that WMF was throwing Somey a bone or two? It wouldn't necessarily take much.

Re: The evoluton of cooperation

I'm currently reading The evolution of cooperation by Robert Axelrod, having been inspired to do so after Hannh Fry's excellent TV programme on The Joy of Winning . It has an interesting discussion about how cooperation emerges (or doesn't) in a population playing to iterated Prisoner's Dilemma gam...
