Re: Best way to run a criticism forum

Ah, a clear and unambiguous threat. A very clear example of what a criticism forum does not want.

Re: Best way to run a criticism forum

An irrational fear of the telephone is a sign of ... ... someone desperately trying to divert the discussion. So back to the topic, which is how not to run a criticism forum. [...] you falsely claim to be [...] An excellent illustration of how not to run a forum. Proa has no knowledge about my age ...

Re: Madam Gender

Graaf, you may be right. Otherwise, I'm at a loss to account for what Desk and Proa are trying to accomplish, apart from personal gratification. Their mission statement is "Tracking Wikipedia … so the barbarians don't win", but it seems to me that as far as Genderdesk is concerned the barbarians are...

Re: Best way to run a criticism forum

Firstly, would the action described constitute harassment? Clearly yes. No, not actually, not by any stretch of the term. Have you ever used a telephone? It's a communication device, as is email. There would have be threats or repeated calls for the purpose of annoying (rather than communicating wi...

Re: Madam Gender

How wrong can you get ? this is about a climate change dispute that has been waging for at least the last nine years across Wikipedia, the private list of the Wikipedia climate change committee, the defunct Wikipedia Review, and most recently the British online magazine The Conversation, which is w...

Re: Best way to run a criticism forum

I have never done either of those things. I think Risker was just trying to be funny. There are three things here which, not unnaturally, Proa is trying to conflate. Firstly, would the action described constitute harassment? Clearly yes. Secondly, has Proa been accused of that in a public forum? Ag...

Re: Best way to run a criticism forum

What's so sick about all this is what Wikipedians including yourself are defending: the alleged right to hide behind masks and unjustly hurt others without consequence. When you pick a Wikipedia "biography" subject or just a name out of the phone book to slander and torment, that is not "outing" be...

Re: Best way to run a criticism forum

This is not really the point. Whether or not someone has been guilty of any given specific forms of abuse is irrelevant, so long as people think they have, and it is that belief that underlies the threat implicit in phrases such as "unless someone seriously pisses me off". That's why I was careful t...

Re: Madam Gender

It had to hurt, writing this: Oh wait, I forgot, you are trying to frame Proabivouac for this, and say it is him. Proabivouac, who is such a boring old man that he has been using the same name on multiple websites since approximately the Paleolithic Age. I doubt if he even knows how to make a sock. ...

Re: Best way to run a criticism forum

I mean, if you don't feel there is any use to these sites and are annoyed at your treatment, no one is holding you captive. There exists no perfect society in this world no matter what its purpose. If you expect perfection in everything, you will be consistently disappointed. Again true. But one re...
