Re: ArbCom 2018 election

I don't know Joe Roe, but his presumably fake name alongside theirs doesn't look good. He says he is an archaeologist; is this true?. That is his real name, and yes he is an archaeologist. Look at his UCL profile: https://www.ucl.ac.uk/archaeology/people/research-students/roe Compare to his commons...

Re: ArbCom 2018 election

I personally think the now oversighted hatchet job by Fram may not have helped Drmies much either, between that and how he answered the questions, and his general conduct, it seems like although he started as a good candidate, he ended "up shite creek without a paddle".

Re: ArbCom 2018 election

Well TDA I proxy-voted for you. I'm probably too close to a 500-day punishment for wrong-think / bugging the CIRT to think clearly. Oh no, proxying for a banned editor!!! Seriously, though, you could have just voted how you wanted. No need to take the same positions as me. I have no serious investm...

moderator election

FYI there is a moderator election happening on RationalWiki right now. It is sort of like the en-wiki arb election but nuttier and less needlessly complicated. Notable features: * After I nominated several banned trolls, a few vandals, and my sockpuppet, it was decided that eligibility rules were a ...

Re: BullRangifer

One wonders how he could have written him e-mails and yet not spoken to him. He said he usually didn't get a positive result, which could mean no response, but "usually" suggests sometimes he did get a response. Perhaps what he really means is that he has never spoken to him vocally, but has exchan...

Re: Editors is a dumb name

I quite like contributor, which is a common term in foss projects.

There are quite a few names in use;

user
editor
volunteer
Wikipedian
person

or, for some roles;

admin
arb
vandal
sock
crat
reviewer
pagemover

and, or the less polite;

troll
idiot
inane dingbat

Re: Veracity of statements by Donald Trump

It was explicitly stated that it could continue if someone else wanted to take over the responsibility, but there were no takers, admittedly hardly surprising. The amount of work needed to trim the excessive amount of quotations would be hard. Obviously the article should be deleted, and the reason...
