Arguing that a word doesn't mean what it means because of its etymology is rarely helpful.
There are 4 definitions given here. You seem to be heavily slanted towards the 1st.

Re: Wikia bans "SJW" term for a period and it goes poorly

TDA, just let me again reiterate that the word bias comes from the French/Occitan biais , which is used in the periphrastic "par le biais de" (by means of, through, by dint of, etc.). Amusingly, its hidden root may be etymologically related to "screw" § , which in its charnel sense is best translate...

I think sometimes R**** just likes to wind people up and make them dance. I appreciate what you've written in this thread. I've learned stuff from both of you. I'll have to read it again to see exactly what the link is to Wikia and SJW, but really I don't care that much. Fact is, you are a pretty go...

Re: K. e. Coffman's vendetta against dead Germans now at ArbCom

WP:CAN has always seemed to me to be depressingly parochial, though I understand it's there (in part) to minimize mass infiltrations of newbies picking bones, big and small. This could gum up and potentially explode the sausage machine if such campaigns proliferated unchecked by WP:NOT.

Re: A maverick source

Now as for that bookshelf I decided to build to keep myself out of trouble... (African newspapers don't have quite the numbers of their US & UK counterparts.)

Re: Everipedia

EP does not have the same notability / RS instincts as WP (such as the fatwas against primary sources). One referencing rule is that you are not allowed to use Wikipedia as a reference on EP (which makes it more difficult to link directly to archived discussions at the Village Pump, such as the one ...

Re: Editors get no protection from CA Supreme Court

Think it's fun threatening waiters with a bad Yelp! review (because I'm tacky ) The fact that they let Mr. Salsman's link to the case's reddit thread leak into the blog comments makes me think that the WMF probably wouldn't figure Yelp! to be a community. Still, the comments in that Reddit thread a...

May I be amused to have read it here first? :)

ps: thanks for the thread on the Sunlight Foundation. That's a very curious story.
