He certainly has admin friends. Mane of them. Look at this appeal for a 6 month (reduced to 1) TBAN from Eastern Europe he just won (personal attacks in the appear itself) -

6 Month EE TBAN - https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?ti ... =885145347
Reduced to 1 month - https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?ti ... =885362186
Overturned on review - https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?ti ... =886003151

Why does Volunteer Marek have so many admin friends?

Part of Marek's success is that he is good at drowning people with nonsense and attacks to conceal his own bad behavior under a veneer of outrage. The guy laid into Icewhiz outright accusing the editor of bad faith and fabricating a plagiarism charge without having all the facts in retaliation against an opponent yet acknowledging at the end of his shouty rant that he has no actual way to check the relevant evidence to prove the charge is fabricated (he also mentions not looking at all of Icewhiz's claims, where he would have seen Icewhiz specifically claimed to have access to the relevant sources). There were also incendiary attacks on another editor who dared suggest Marek also might have ulterior motives.

Admins, especially Drmies, were likely jumping to Marek's defense due to ideological affiliation or personal friendship, but they do so by misrepresenting Sandstein's own objection to Marek's conduct. Sanbdstein clearly cites two distinct statements and notes "other instances of vitriol and confrontative statements" yet Drmies immediately makes the narrative about it being over "one sentence" instead. This contrived narrative of Marek being sanctioned over one or two sentences rather than a screed of personalized attacks, explicit accusations of bad faith, and general battleground attitude, after a long history of past sanctions and blocks was what won the day.

It seems as if his far-left views in American politics build up support for his ultra-nationalist/Catholic views in Poland. The AE thread seems to read like he's defending Holocaust denial of some sort.

I saw this on reddit -

The reported user actually made a victory dance on Stormfront?

Seems Marek has decided to cause problems in the Israeli-Palestinian topic area now over 1RR violations. Per usual, the reporting user is facing the inquisition rather than Marek because they are confused at how Shrike, a regular in the Israeli-Palestinian area, became aware of edits related to Israel. They are also feeling like giving him a pass due to the articles specifically cited in the initial report not being clearly noted as related to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict at the time. Both concern an Israeli political party, which recently formed an alliance endorsed by Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu.

Now, that argument of ignorance might be a legitimate point normally, but Marek only went to those articles after he had already got into a dispute with Shrike about content regarding said alliance in Netanyahu's own page. Shrike reduced the amount of content, which was over-the-top inflammatory in several respects, and Marek clearly knew he couldn't revert the edit more than once at that page since he tagged the article rather than trying to restore his version twice. Going to articles about the party is plainly an attempt at continuing the dispute on other articles and Marek's "Aw schucks, it wasn't tagged so I didn't think this was also covered under the sanctions" is a brazen lie and they seem to be falling for it. Wonder if anyone there is going to pick up on the GAME before the whole thing gets shut down with a warning for the person who dared report him.
