WMF expands its grip

Post by Renée Bagslint » Sat Jul 14, 2018 10:55 am

The Foundation has advertised for a Manager of Community Development to "support core volunteer community development initiatives [...] lead efforts to assess community capacity and set achievable targets for development. We are seeking a leader for a team that will create a holistic approach to guiding our volunteer communities to learn in order to reach and grow impact towards our movement’s mission." In other words, to tell volunteers what to do. A modest request to explain why the WMF has decided to tilt the balance of power further against the volunteers leads to an embarassed response from Maggie Dennis that this is "output 1.2 of the CE "Strategy" program discussed on Meta in Community Engagement's plan. The full scope of what this team is and what they do will be determined in conjunction with phase 2 of strategy and subsequent Foundation plans" -- in other words, we're doing it because we've planned to do it, and once we've done it we'll decide what it all means. Interesting that Maggie doesn't actually try to explain the merits of the proposal, possibly because she is one of the few WMF employees who seems averse to lying and bullshitting.

The huge probelm of them is they can't intervent in the communities directly for many legal reasons. You can be sure, spell on it WMF knows exacte where the probelms and issues are, are reading every word and letter on all the critical sites because they are scared to dead to be sued!

So, they are looking for systems to intervent in a indirect way in the communities. Because for sure they understand they can't go one with there "Wiki powered by troll power" system, because that is a dead end what has come to it's end. In my opinion it is impossible what they now are trying because it is simple too late.

There Wiki system is a outdated internet product, what is far beyond repair and is only still alive because of the money of the donors. And the moment the donors don't believe in them anymore, they are finished. Because they where simple to stubborn to listen to people who knew where they were talking about, and trolled them out!
If you're in a dogfight, become a cat!
