New Watchlist Filters

Post by The Joy » Sun Jul 22, 2018 4:24 am

I logged into Wikipedia to check my watchlist and got an alert about new changes to the list.

A badly thought-out, badly-implemented change introduced without discussing it with those who might use on the basis of effort applied without asking users what their needs are. I'm shocked, I tell you, shocked.

I initially hated it. Then I found that it has lots of filter options. I can set it to only show changes I haven't seen, only show problem edits, only show certain kinds of edits, log actions, wikidata changes.

it's great for when you have a massive watchlist but don't edit, it allows easy examination of what is happening on your favorite pages without seeing irrelevant stuff.

What would be the point of a watchlist if you don't edit?

I can see what happens on interesting articles. I enjoy reading Wikipedia as much as editing it. AfD's are a particular unappreciated spectator sport, and if I don't stay involved in something to at least a minimal extent I will lose touch.
