Pigs versus Sanger

Post by Renée Bagslint » Sun Apr 08, 2018 7:20 pm

Andy Mabbett gets all het up about Everipedia not attributing CC-BY-SA stuff from Wikipedia correctly, Wikipedians pile on including Dario Taraborelli Head of Research at the WMF. Funny there were no complaints about Alexa and her chums spouting the same stuff without attribution, including a stony silence from WMF. Probably Mabbett and his friends prefer to go for a small player rather than challenge the likes of Amazon who might actually play hard ball. Or perhaps Mabbett sees Everipedia as more of a challenge than Alexa to the Wikipigs-in-Clover gigs that he's so keen on.

These people who troll around trying to nail other sites for using free content are nuts. Wikipedia's standards are so low. That place has been a hotbed of plagiarism and intellectual theft since day 1. Funny how the "information wants to be free" crowd gets so vicious when the shoe is on the other foot.

No doubt this is partly about trying to cause trouble for one of the more viable Wikipedia alternatives.
