Commons Picture McPictureface

Post by Renée Bagslint » Wed Jun 13, 2018 4:16 pm

This competition is open for another ten days or so. Voting is open to any "established Wikimedia user with more than 75 edits before January 1, 2018". It would be terrible if an organised group of people with sockpuppet accounts at their disposal were to agree off-wiki on the most obnoxious picture on the list (such as a giant spider) and try to vote it into first place. Terrible indeed. Don't do that ...

What's wrong with the spider? I like it. Haven't you ever read Charlotte's Web?

I mention it because a lot of people don't, and it seems to me to be the picture which, if it were to win, would cause most distress. Unfortunately the competition does not appear to allow an open vote, otherwise I might have suggested one of the more grossly pornographic ones.

Oh, Wikipedians love causing distress, especially to innocent readers with phobias and possibly heart conditions. Guess what picture is on the "Arachnophobia" article?
